Faith is essential when enduring suffering. Christian martyrs are a testament to this.
One must not lose faith. The following is a list of warnings. One can lose faith:
1. By going to schools forbidden by the Church;
2. by the neglect of their religious duties;
3. by the reading of bad books;
4. by worldliness and a wicked life;
5. by intercourse with scoffers at religion;
6. by mixed marriages;
7. by becoming members of secret societies;
8. by pride and subtle reasoning on the mysteries of religion.
